The judges of the Nero Book Awards are simply asked to choose which reads they would most want to recommend to others.

The 2023 Category judges include authors, journalists and booksellers who have selected four books across four categories: Children’s Fiction, Debut Fiction, Fiction and Non-Fiction. You can read more about the Category shortlists here. On the 30^th January the 16 books were whittled down to a selection of four winners, one from each category. Read more about our judges below.
