SARFRAZ MANZOOR

Sarfraz Manzoor is an author, journalist, broadcaster, screenwriter and critic. He was born in Pakistan, came to Britain as a young boy and grew up in Luton in a working class Pakistani Muslim family. He is the author of the acclaimed childhood memoir Greetings from Bury Park which he adapted into the feature film Blinded by the Light. His most recent book is They- what Muslims and non-Muslims Get Wrong About Each Other, which was published in August 2021 and was a Radio 4 Book of the Week. He has been a published journalist for 25 years with his work appearing most frequently in The Guardian, The Times and The Sunday Times. He has been a regular presence on radio and television and has presented numerous documentaries on Radio 4. He is currently working on a feature film script that he is developing with the BFI and a play that has been commissioned by the Birmingham Rep. He lives in London.
