Celebrating outstanding writing by great authors living in the UK and Ireland, these awards list the best books of the year.

Each year, our expert panel of judges will choose books from the past 12 months that marry high-quality writing with universal appeal and that they would most want to recommend to everyone they meet.

Alongside the main awards, the Nero New Writers Prize in association with Brunel University of London aims to discover emerging talent, recognising unpublished and aspiring writers and supporting them as they develop into the writing stars of the future.
