DAVID COATES

David Coates is the Events Manager at Blackwell’s Bookshop in Manchester. He joined the company as a temp in 1999 after graduating university and has been there ever since. Over the years he has had several roles in the shop from running a small satellite shop, buying for the fiction department and managing both academic and general departments. Following the opening of the new Manchester branch in 2019, he has been running the events programme. Blackwell’s Manchester now regularly hosts a wide range of events every month (both in store and at external venues) as well as providing pop-up bookshops for Bluedot Festival, Ted X and many more.
